What Is Editor+?
Editor+ is the full creative editor on GotFreeCards.com. Where the standard editor lets you personalize the inside of a card, Editor+ gives you control over all three panels — the Front, Inside Left, and Inside Right — before you print or save.
It's free to use on any card on the site. No account needed to try it — though you'll need to sign in to save your work.
How to Open Editor+
Open any card on the site and look for the purple Editor+ bar just below the card preview. Click it and the full editor opens instantly.
The Three Panels
At the top of the editor you'll see three tabs — Front, Inside Left, and Inside Right. Click any tab to switch to that panel and start editing it.
- Front — the card's front artwork. You can layer text or stickers directly on top of the design.
- Inside Left — traditionally left blank, but great for a photo or a short quote.
- Inside Right — pre-filled with a greeting appropriate for the card's occasion. Edit it, replace it, or add to it.
What You Can Add
The toolbar gives you everything you need to make the card feel personal:
- Text — add as many text boxes as you like. Choose from 20+ fonts, each shown in its own typeface so you know exactly what you're picking. Adjust size, toggle bold or italic, and pick any color.
- Photo — upload a photo from your device and place it anywhere on the canvas. Great for the Inside Left panel.
- Stickers — browse a library of decorative stickers and click to place them. Resize, rotate, and reposition freely.
- Shape — add a simple rectangle as a background block or divider.
- Undo / Redo — step back through your changes without losing earlier work.
- Clear — wipe the current panel and start fresh if you change your mind.
Moving and Arranging Objects
Every object on the canvas — text, photos, stickers, shapes — works the same way:
- Move — drag it anywhere on the panel.
- Resize — drag the corner handles.
- Rotate — drag the circular handle above the selection.
- Delete — select it and press Delete or Backspace on your keyboard.
Saving Your Design
Click Save in the editor header. All three panels are saved together. The next time you open the same card in Editor+, everything is restored exactly as you left it.
Your saved Editor+ cards appear on the My Cards page with an Editor+ label, and the Edit button takes you straight back in.
Printing from Editor+
Click Print in the editor header to open the print preview. Two layouts are available:
- Big (landscape, 11 × 8.5 in) — front on page one, inside spread on page two. Fold once for a full-size card.
- Small (portrait, 8.5 × 11 in) — all panels on one sheet, quarter-fold. Good for a compact card from a single page.
Tips for a Great Card
- Use the Inside Left panel for a personal photo — it makes the card feel genuinely one-of-a-kind.
- Keep the Inside Right message to 3–5 lines for the best fit when printed.
- If the card front has a dark background, add a light-colored text box on top for contrast.
- The font picker shows each font in its own typeface — scroll through it before settling on one.
- Use Undo freely. There's no penalty for experimenting.
